KEARNEY — Richard Lee Barlow, 78, of Kearney died Monday, March 25, 2019, in Kearney.

Private family burial will be later.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Dr. Barlow was a retired University of Nebraska at Kearney professor of statistics.

Richard was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Kearney to Robert and Josephine (Svanda) Barlow. He attended Kearney State College and graduated in 1962 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Richard furthered his education at the University of Kansas where he earned his master’s degree. He later obtained his doctorate at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.

Richard was a member of the First Christian Church in Kearney. He was a charter member of Kappa Mu Epsilon and a Golden Legion member of Phi Delta Theta. He enjoyed purchasing and remodeling rental properties, family vacations and his beloved dogs.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Roberta Barlow of Kearney.
