KEARNEY — Donald O. Franks, 79, of Kearney died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at Mount Carmel Home and Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney with the Rev. Don Endicott officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon with military honors by Gibbon American Legion Post 316 in conjunction with the Offutt Air Force Base Military Honors Team.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Donald Orville Franks was born Nov. 14, 1939, in Kearney to Orville Ray and Helen (Buck) Franks.

He was united in marriage to Beverly Dancer on Dec. 27, 1956, in Hastings and to this union four children were born: Mike, Debbie, Steven and Rick. Don proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1957 to 1963.

Donald was a minister at Church of God of Prophecy, serving in Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska. He loved his church and it was the center of his life. Donald also enjoyed horses and riding motorcycles. He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beverly Franks of Kearney; his children, Mike Franks and his wife, Gerri, of Gibbon, Debbie Dye and her husband, Bill, of Canon City, Colo., and Rick Franks and his wife, Pamela, of Gibbon; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Lois Hyde of Kearney; along with many other relatives and friends.
