Kenneth Lewis “Ken” Greeno
1940-2018
Kenneth Lewis “Ken” Greeno, 78, of Lawrence, KS, passed away peacefully at his home October 26, 2018.
Ken was born August 17, 1940, in Carlsbad, NM, to Joe and Florence Greeno. He was the oldest of five children. He graduated from Kearney High School, Kearney, Nebraska, in 1958.
Ken played minor league baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals and in 1960 he tried out as a pitcher for the White Sox organization. In the off season, he attended college and eventually earned an associate degree in military sciences.
In 1963, Ken joined the Army and in the next decade of service, including two tours in Vietnam, he rose to the rank of captain. Following military service, he was in sales.
Ken is survived by his wife of 17 years Nancy, of Lawrence, his step-daughter Jane of Salina, KS, his son Patrick and daughter Stacey of Arizona.
