We have received word of the passing of class member Jasper Melton on the 17th of August 2017.
TUCSON, Ariz. — Jasper Melton, 76, of Tucson, formerly of Kearney, Neb., died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, in Tucson. Services were today (Saturday) in Tucson. Burial will be later in Milwaukee. He was born Aug. 29, 1940, in Oxford, Neb.In 1963, he married Susanne Idt of Kearney. Survivors include his wife, Susie; children, David and Jayne, both of Milwaukee, and Joe of Indianapolis; brother, Bill of San Francisco; and four grandchildren.

Jasper was a good guy and played a significant role in my life . His mother was my and many others Sunday school teacher. Out of high school one year she insisted that I go to a youth rally in Cozad. I had a choice of duck hunting that October day or pleasing Ella Melton. Luck had it that I chose wisely and went to Cozad where I met a lovely blonde girl (Lyle Burtons cousin) that 3 years later became my wife for life !
